Following Nicola Formichetti‘s departure from Mugler, Thierry Mugler was just named the creative advisor of the brand he founded. Though his role has been defined as Artistic Director of Thierry Mugler Parfum since 1992, his new position will bring synergy in the creative management department of fashion, fragrance, and accessories.
“It is not an understatement to say that Mr Thierry Mugler is both a legend of fashion and fragrance,” said Joël Palix. “His body of work has influenced many designers and perfumers worldwide. He has brought extraordinary sensory experiences to millions of women and men across the world. It is time to unite both activities under one single creative management and turn Mugler into a global and fully integrated luxury brand with a synergetic approach across fashion, accessories and fragrances.”
In true artistic stereotypes, Mugler originally released control of his brand due to the business aspect of day-to-day managements. While he is now returning to a larger director role, he will only advise Thierry Mugler SAS director general and Clarins Fragrance Group president Joël Palix. Additionally, he will lend his aesthetics and creative mind to the production of external theatre shows, in Paris at the end of 2013 and in Berlin next autumn.
